When developing your brand identity (logo) I take into consideration:
   • Aesthetics
   • Market Research
   • Consumer Psychology
   • Iconography & Symbolism
   • Typography
   • Your Target Market
   • The Competition

Stage I: Define the nature of the requirement
Identify:
a) All the aspects related to your communication (content, target audience, positioning)
b) Any aspect related to graphic design that already identifies your business (colors, fonts, style, symbols) and must be taken into account to design your new logo.
c) Aspects that must be avoided (because they identify your competitors, for instance)
I provide you with a questionnaire to fill out and send back. Remember that the accuracy of your answers will help me develop a better logo for you.

Stage II: Logo concept development
After reviewing all the information you provide in Stage I, I will send you logo concepts. The purpose of this stage is to collect feedback to lead the concept in a single direction. One concept should be selected for further refinement.
This stage will provide me with your feedback to lead the design to a single direction. I expect to get:
a) The basic logo concept and the elements that will be present in the final logo version with high degree of probability
b) The elements that must be dismissed
c) The elements that aren't present but should be included in your logo

Stage III: First revision stage
After applying your suggestions, I will send you a second round of drafts. They will include those elements you chose. I expect you to send us new feedback about them.

Stage IV: Second design revision
I repeat Stage III in order to take the logo versions closer to your expectations. Your suggestions and opinions will be applied to the final logo version that we'll deliver you.

Stage V: Final approval
I send you the final logo. The logo design process is finished, and all the rights of the chosen logo belongs to you.

If you have any doubts about process, please let me know.

No one really wants to pick up a phone in this texting era. But a voice system is sometimes necessary.

It's been over three years of freelancing for me. And in that time, only two clients have actually required my cell number. In fact I was face-to-face with a steady client yesterday, and our conversation went something like, "...sure, I'm available next week to work on your project. Do you have my number?" He said, "I'll email you."

Ha. In any case, I'm happy to announce my official d*Sine Lab office phone number for those moments in a project which an email address does not suffice. Oh, and while on the topic, a P.O. Box address is coming soon, for the maybe three people left on Earth who use snail mail. Call me!! If I don't pick up, leave a voice message and the system will send an audio file to my email. And...curtain.

    The Designer

I am Donya -- my friends call me "d." I'm 30 years old, and from the suburbs of Southern California. I used to want an office on the 42nd floor somewhere in Midtown East. After graduating and working at three multi-national corporations, I got laid off in 2008 like everyone else did. I then started d*Sine Lab as my freelance alter ego. It's has been an eye-opening four years for me, including having  two kids and moving from California to North Carolina...far, far away from NYC.
